Summer Break Wind Down

I hope everyone is doing well and that life is treating you kindly! Things have been heated with the summer sun blazing, but along with the heat comes a certain slowing down, a softness to the pace of life. And now, just like that, the season is starting to shift. The days are growing shorter, and schools are starting to go back in session. It's a reminder that we're on the cusp of a new chapter—that beautiful, messy "in-between" phase.

You know that feeling, right? When you're not quite where you were, but you're not fully where you're going? It's like the world is holding its breath, waiting for the first cool breeze of fall. It's a time of letting go of the long, lazy days and getting ready to turn a new page. It can feel exciting and a little sad all at once, but either way, we get to decide how we want to show up for this new season. It's an opportunity to embrace the change and see what new things are ready to bloom. Going from caterpillar to butterfly is a messy process that takes time, and in the middle of the transition and metamorphosis, you're neither--you're not caterpillar any longer, but you haven't become the butterfly yet, either. Just keep taking things one step at a time, giving yourself grace and kindness, because you'll get there.

The boys are feeling bittersweet about the start of school next week, but they are a bit excited about it. A new school year is a new chapter, a fresh start, an opportunity to learn, grow, change, improve, and explore. These new chapters allow us to discover more about ourselves, learning who we're becoming, gaining more insight about other people, the world, what can be done. They're going to miss summer break, but they're going to do great--I just know it.

Tsuki had a pretty chill week with plenty of antics and shenanigans mixed in. She enjoyed plenty of cozy cat naps, snuggly snoozing, leisurely lounging, birdwatching, and chill vibes. Tsuki also had lots of fun playing with her cat toys; she definitely knows how to make the most of life, enjoying both rest and action. Tsuki and I have savored a peaceful, quiet, and relaxing weekend.

As we say goodbye to the long, sunny days and hello to new beginnings, remember to be gentle with yourself. There's no need to rush into the next thing with a sense of urgency. Just like the seasons, we all have our own rhythm and pace. Some days will feel full of energy and forward motion, while others will call for you to slow down and simply be. Some days we need extra rest and relaxation, giving ourselves loving self-care and allowing ourselves to replenish, so that we're reading for what life brings us next. There's nothing wrong with filling up your cup, so allow yourself to take breaks when needed.

It's in these moments of stillness that we find clarity and can truly appreciate the journey. So, as you prepare for this new chapter, whatever it may be—a new school year, a shift in work, or just the changing of the leaves—remember that you're doing just fine. Trust that you're exactly where you need to be. Embrace the transition, breathe, and let yourself get excited for all the new opportunities and beautiful moments waiting just around the corner. Please, take care and have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
