I hope everyone had a wonderful week, that you're all doing well, and that energies have been treating you kindly. To all the moms out there, I hope you had a great and relaxing Mother's Day! Sleep was tricky again this week, and I wonder if it had anything to do with all the activity; there was the super new moon towards the beginning of the week and then there were all those solar flares towards the end (I heard people commenting on seeing the Aurora Borealis in all sorts of places this weekend, but unfortunately it was cloudy here). I hope they were kinder to you, because this lack of being able to fall asleep is rough (although, I think some of it was purely just my emotions deciding to emotion and be challenging). If you want to learn more about the recent new moon, feel free to check out the following videos:
Sleep was tricky again. It was a struggle falling asleep Sunday and Monday nights, and I woke up rather tired as a result. Didn't get much sleep, either, so that's probably why I couldn't remember my dreams. Sleep was still a struggle Tuesday night, but I was able to recall some of my dream when I awoke Wednesday morning. I had gone out onto the porch and heard a bunch of noises. This group of people just decided to invite themselves into the backyard, seeming to be intent on being rowdy and potentially partying. I requested that they leave, and some of the people decided they would try to climb the fence and go into the neighbor's backyard. Not sure what ended up happening to most of them, but these two girls seemed intent on staying in the backyard. I asked them multiple times to leave, but they didn't seem to want to listen, opting to ignore me. I told them that I would call the cops if they didn't leave, and they ended up "fake leaving" by going to the front and waiting until they thought I had left and the coast was clear. I ended up calling someone else in hopes that the girls would buy the bluff and I wouldn't have to actually call the cops. Unfortunately, they seemed super determined and refused to leave. I think I ended up calling the cops for real, which scared the girls. There was also something about someone trying to chase down some kind of bug (mosquito?) in the living room with a fly swatter. More likely happened, but that's all I could remember once I woke up.
Sleep was pretty tricky for the rest of the week, and I didn't sleep the best. Dream recall was really hazy and elusive. I slept somewhat decently on Friday night/Saturday morning but had no clue what transpired in the dream realm. Sleep was pretty trash Saturday night/this morning, but that was due to a bad mood. I did remember a bit from my dream, though. It involved walking around with my two friends, and my friends wanting to go to some ice cream shop that I had never seen before and was apparently ran by an Asian man. April ended up ordering this massive scoop of ice cream (like the size of a basketball), and the price reflected it (maybe like $60?). When I looked at the menu the sizes were really confusing. I think I ordered the "elegant" size (no idea what that's supposed to me, it was just like 3rd or 4th smallest). I think that one cost like $20, and I was pretty confused when it came out to be like a little cup of ice cream. Corliss was entering some kind of contest. When I asked for a spoon, they said that they didn't give them out and that people could buy silverware spoons but that they were out. Was a pretty frustrating experience. That's all I could remember in my pretty lousy sleep.
The boys are definitely ready for summer break, and they've gotten a bit snippy with each other. They have been excited about special events, like a belated Cinco de Mayo social event at a Mexican restaurant, D&D, swim meets, etc. The older brother was also sharing new releases for Funko Pops with me (he's quite excited about the new Shrek Pops). They were excited to get their yearbooks (it's cool because the covers are kind of like "mood" jewelry in the sense that the heat changes them from black to reveal imagery underneath). The boys were also just excited to be able to relax over the weekend.
Tsuki was her typical adorable and goofy self this week, as per usual. She spent plenty of time snoozing on the back of the couch, enjoying cozy cat naps on her favorite chair, lounging on her window shelf for some birdwatching, spying on animals from her perch on the couch at the front window, sleeping the day away in her cat house, and having her fill of fun. Tsuki also enjoyed plenty of antics, like sneak attacks, playing with her food (and knocking it around), wedging herself into her cat scratcher, and all of her goofy ways. There's never a dull moment with her around.

No matter what happens on this rollercoaster of life, remember to be gentle with yourself. You're doing the best you can with where you're at and the resources available to you. The past you did the best they could, too, so don't beat yourself up about it; you didn't know then what you know now. You have your own timing, skills, strengths, interests, goals, areas for growth, and areas of challenge, so you don't have to compare yourself to others. You're the only you there is. It's okay if you don't have all the answers. It's okay if you don't have it all figured out or if you need to take a break. It's okay to have, feel, and express your emotions. You're only human; it's okay to cry and struggle. Life can be quite challenging and can feel like it's on impossible mode sometimes. It's okay to need help; nobody can do it all on their own. It doesn't make you any less. You matter. You have a light to add to the world--it's better with you in it. So, take time to rest when you need it. Give yourself the chance to fill up your cup again. Breathe and take your time. You don't need to rush; trust the process because you're amazing and capable of phenomenal things. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!
Food for thought for the week:
