Happy Halloween, Día de Los Muertos, and November!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week and enjoyed the holidays if you celebrate! A "deadly unicorn" named Iris showed up at my door on Monday for Halloween. In true Iris fashion, she was dressed in bright pink with rainbow colored-accents that came with a unicorn hood and decided to accessorize with a pretend, bloody knife. An interesting take on a unicorn, for sure, but so like her.

I had trouble falling asleep Sunday night because I just wasn't feeling tired. From what I could remember in my dream I was driving around. I was getting somewhat low on gas, and then this little, gray exclamation point appeared on my dashboard. My car started driving a bit funny and seemed to be getting low on electricity/battery. It started seeming like it would shut down. I ended up stopping by some random house and picking up my phone charger. It ended up being the home of one of my sister's friends I think because my sister ended up being there. That's all I could remember once I woke up. I struggled falling asleep Monday night, too, feeling pretty energized. It made it challenging to get up Tuesday morning; I was rather groggy, and my dream recall was incredibly fuzzy. I couldn't recall what transpired in the dream realm.

My dream recollection was veiled in a haze on Wednesday, and I couldn't remember anything upon waking. When I woke up on Thursday morning, I was tempted to go back to sleep (it had been another night of feeling wide awake and struggling to fall asleep). There was something about writing in my dream, potentially as a collaboration. I think there might have been something about school, too. I want to say my family was somehow involved, but specific details were hazy.

I was quite tempted to go back to sleep when I woke up Friday morning. From what I could remember from my dream, I had been writing articles. Pretty sure they were about crystals. I think I was linking them to other people's articles, too. That's all I could remember once I woke up. My dream recall was fairly fuzzy again on Saturday morning; my dream involved writing. I think it was about crystals and that I was talking about it with other people. I think my family might have been involved, but specific details were elusive.

My dream recall was a bit fuzzy when I woke up, but a lot happened. The first thing I remembered was being at a house with the boys I babysit. It was getting later in the day and some big cosmic event was going to happen. The boys' mom told me to keep everyone indoors for a while; something about the solar energy (or radiation) was going to be too high and that bodies wouldn't be able to handle it well if exposed to it directly at first. At one point there were these small mud/dirt (or maybe poop) beings that started invading and trying to break into houses. The dream transitioned and followed this small group. I think it was something about special abilities/super powers. People seemed to be after the group, and they seemed to be in this hideout. Specific details were hazy, though.

The last part I could remember involved a school. I ended up wandering around what seemed to be a college after one of the boys I babysit requested to go to one of the local elementary schools. There seemed to be some big event going on at the campus. Some of the students seemed to find this otherworldly being/creature, and they were amazed by it. This guy that looked to be human but gave off these weird, untrustworthy vibes appeared. He kept asking me and the students about it, demanding to be taken to it. It didn't feel right and felt like that was the last thing we should do. We basically ended up taking him on a wild goose chase. Eventually, we were able to separate from him and get away. We ended up on this classroom that had a wide window with an excellent view of the sky. The moon was huge, and an eclipse started to take place. The group started to set up some kind of ceremony with candles, crystals, and cards. There seemed to be a small hanging pot with incense and a cup of tea, too. I started taking pictures of the set up, angling the frame in order to get the eclipse in the background because I felt called to. These blimp-like aircraft started appearing, and the students started freaking out and feeling antsy. They started trying to rush me, insisting that we clean up and get the room back to the way it was, as if we had never been there. They were extremely anxious and paranoid about getting caught by whatever or whoever was on the aircraft that was circling the area and getting ready to land. We cleaned everything up, and the last thing I could remember was that one of the aircraft landed basically right outside of the window. More probably happened, but that's all I could recall upon waking.

The boys were excited about Spy x Family and were telling me all about how they've been watching funny clips from it. Every day they wanted to talk about Spy x Family, coming up with all sorts of theories and wanting to know what will happen in the story next. The boys think the premise is really fun. They also started discussing Christmas music, although the focus was more on how they wanted to have songs like the Heatmiser/Snowmiser song, the Grinch, and "What's This?" from The Nightmare Before Christmas should be played more often. The pair also discussed various Christmas music memes. The older brother is also really excited that his birthday is later this month and keeps asking what Iris wants for her birthday since her birthday is 6 days before his.

Tsuki was her typical goofy self this week, although the cooler weather definitely has made her sleepier. She still will bounce off the walls (and I mean that quite literally), just not as much as usual. Tsuki loves to sleep in her cat house, but her favorite spot right now is probably the bench seat. She is constantly lounging, napping, and playing on the bench seat. She'll even drag straws and toys up there with her! Tsuki is such a goof!

Corliss and I got to discussing names, and my name roughly translates to "God beholds the loving star of the sea that has a vision." Jessica translates to "God beholds," "vision," "sight," or "wealthy." Marie being "star of the sea," and my last name meaning love. Corliss' translation of my name is: "Behold, a star that shines so bright; in the darkness of the sea, this star is glorified in her brightness she decided she carries." Names can be quite interesting. I also got to meet up with April and Iris this weekend, and we enjoyed catching up at the park. It was great to see them again and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!

Do take care of yourselves. It's all too easy for us to put our needs and self care on the backburner as the chaotic holiday season hits. Be gentle with yourself, give yourself the chance to rest, and know that you don't have to do it all. Completing your to-do list is great, but don't let it come at the cost of your health. You're worthy of love and deserve kindness. Do your best and realize it's okay to fail and make mistakes. Failure and mistakes are great opportunities for learning and growth. You've got this, you're capable of amazing things, and you have such good to share with the world! Don't sell yourself short; you're going to accomplish incredible feats! Take care, have a wonderful rest of your weekend, and follow your joy!
