May the 4th Be With You

I hope everyone is doing well and that the energies are being kind to you. We've been having so many thunderstorms lately. It's been so wet, but the plant life is rather happy and turning such a luscious green. Grateful that I haven't had to go out in it much and have been able to avoid getting soaked. Rain is so nice to listen to, but I prefer not to be drenched by it. Much nicer to enjoy from the comfort of home. Sleep has been hit or miss, and I wonder if that has anything to do with energies from the previous week (i.e. full moon and solar flares). I hope you stayed dry this week, got plenty of sleep, and that you had plenty of fun!

Sleep was rather challenging Sunday night into Monday morning. It was more of the same struggles on top of a severe thunderstorm interfering with falling asleep; every time I would get close, intense thunder would boom and basically jump-scare me back into the waking world. Wasn't fun. Dream recall was incredibly hazy, and I had no idea what transpired once I woke up for school drop off. I felt off when I went to bed Monday night (hard to put it into words what exactly it was, but it felt weird and not so good). I slept slightly better, but I still woke up incredibly groggy. I did manage to remember some details from my dream, though. From what I could remember, I was at some kind of like amusement park or carnival. Wherever it was did not look familiar. I happened to be with two other people who I also didn't recognize (I think they were female). I think there happened to be a water park attached to it. What I could remember more clearly is that the two people I was with basically seemed to be "competing" for my attention (maybe even affection?); they took me to this restaurant/bakery place that happened to be having this special deal on specialty desserts/doughnuts (I think it was buy one get two free). I thought they looked interesting and planned on buying some for myself and my friends. The two people I was with didn't want me to buy them for myself and both insisted that they be the one that bought them for me. I ended up with a number of boxes full of the doughnuts from them, as it seemed like they were both trying to outdo one another. Then they were trying to get me to try some of the doughnuts, sharing some with me and I think trying to feed me it themselves. Details got fuzzy, and I couldn't remember any more once woke up.

Sleep was kind of a struggle Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Falling asleep wasn't exactly a big hurdle, but I did wake up feeling rather groggy and tired and unprepared for the waking world. It'd be so nice if sleeping in was possible every day (or most days). Dream recall was a complete blur, too. Sleep was better but not the greatest Friday night/Saturday morning. I was able to get like 8-9 hours of sleep (not sure exactly when I fell asleep or woke up), but it was a whole lot better than it had been for the past two weeks. Wanted more sleep but wasn't able to fall back asleep, which was unfortunate. Grateful to finally be able to get a decent amount of sleep (although it certainly doesn't make up for all the nights of lousy sleep). Sleep was okay (but not the greatest), leaving me waking up kind of groggy today. Felt like something significant happened in the dream realm, but details were too fuzzy to make out and recall. Dreams are strange things.

It was a fairly normal week of babysitting/tutoring. The boys were struggling a bit with waking up and being ready for school; there was a lethargic vibe most mornings. They had fun discussing things like Disney, games, and theories. Plus, they were telling me about some video where this guy kept asking for his sandwich to be toasted to the point where it was completely burnt as well as a video where this guy kept asking for more cheese to the point where it's a mountain of cheese. The autistic brother had a midweek meltdown due to things not going according to his plans, but we did our best to work through it. I didn't take things personally, but there were some deep emotions on his end. Thankfully, we were able to find missing things and work on calming down; the next day he was excitedly telling me about his trip to the zoo he had later that evening the day before, so he did come around and find the joy in things again.

Tsuki was her typical goofy, adorable self. She engaged in her typical antics and shenanigans, lurking behind corners, attempting sneak attacks, crawling underneath people to hangout. She's so goofy. Tsuki also enjoyed plenty of cozy cat naps, snuggling, lounging on the back of the couch, chilling on her window shelf, watching the rain, enjoying the nighttime air after the rain, etc. It was a pretty chill week for her.

As the rains rejuvenate the world, bringing forth all sorts of lush vegetation, make sure to take time to rejuvenate yourself. Take time for self-care, to give yourself some TLC and rest, to do the things you enjoy most, and to refill your cup. You matter. Life is notorious for depleting our energy reserves; it's in everyone's best interests if you replenish yours because then you can engage with life with your best foot forward. Granted, it can be easier said than done some days. Just do your best to take care of yourself; it's okay if your needs vary from day to day. Doesn't make you any less of a worthy person. The journey of life gets messy. Take your time, go at your own pace, and embark on journey you find worthwhile. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
